President's Day Weekend

Unfortunately, Ryan had to be in Palm Springs for the 3 day weekend (and the following week) for work but I was lucky to have my family come to Clovis to keep me company! Dad, Mom, Kate, Jen, Grandma Margaret and the three dogs (Breezy, Bailey and Abby). I had a great time with them and really enjoyed their company and help.
On Valentine's Day we (us girls) decided to something special for our dad by taking him to Arenacross at the Save Mart Center! It really was a blast to watch those guys fly (literally through the air) in the small arena. The noise and the crashes made it hard to not get into it and we found ourselves cheering them on (especially when the little guys raced) and making plans for next month when the Monster Trucks are going to be in town. I think Baby Smith was into it too because himorher was moving around almost the entire time we were there!
So, as is normal in my family, we played some and of course worked some too! While my Dad applied his amazing carpentry skills at putting in a new front door for us (a Christmas present from the parentals) Jen and Gma helped with with the clean up and finishing touches while Mom, Kate and I spiffed up the yard while it wasn't raining.

Original Front Door vs. New Front Door (what a difference - thanks Dad!)

My mom and dad also surprised me by bringing a very special cradle for Baby Smith! My Grandpa Vic made this cradle for me (27 years ago) when I was a new baby out of recycled wood from old telephone booths when they changed them from wood to metal years ago. My three younger sisters were also users of this beautiful crib and now it is my baby's turn. What a wonderful heirloom.
All in all it was a memorable weekend and I am grateful to have such an awesome family! Thank you again for all your help!
