Summer Series - June 2010

We finished May and started June by taking a trip up to Waterford to visit Andy and Kelley (not shown in above picture :). We love their place out in the country and always have so much fun! This time we took a trip to the nearby Modesto Reservoir for a day in the sun.

Case taking his afternoon nap in the buggy in the lake since that was the only place out of the blazing sun! What a trooper he is :)

Water was cold but the sun was hot so Case jumped right in.

Case doing his infamous "Smegoal". He crawled this way for a few months before he walked because it allowed him to carry a toy, smart boy.

Enjoying our pool and the warm (I should say HOT) weather.

We started Katie's Bachelorette party/weekend with pizza and beer at Woodstocks in downtown Santa Cruz. Yum!

After lunch it was time for a little bachelorette scavenger hunt. Fun!

One of the teams trying to get a head start.

After the fun in downtown it was off to the BEACH HOUSE for some intense relaxation. The view was gorgeous and the house was perfect for us girls. What a wonderful way to celebrate with Katie :)

On Sunday, which was also Father's Day, my parents brought Case over to spend the day and night with us at the beach house. It was his first time at the ocean and I would say he LOVED it.

Once his feet got numb he didn't want to leave the water. Since he couldn't walk on his own yet I practically broke my back from holding him up in the surf. It is such a simple joy to watch your child experience something new and enjoy it so much.

Ryan the beekeeper helping out a neighbor with what he first thought was a swarm. However, after he got some of the bees out of the way he saw that it was worse than that. The bees had made a hive in the side of their house. The wall of their house was full of bees (thousands of them) and loads of sweet honey.

(On that note, our bees are doing really good and are currently out in the country near Oakdale enjoying the last days of summer and working hard to stockpile honey for the upcoming winter.)

  1. Yeah! Love the pictures. Yes, my back was killing me too the first few times to the ocean (when they couldn't walk that well). Case is so handsome! Thanks for sharing and thx for the sweet card/note with pic. You're the best!
