Every so often Ryan has to go to the Pismo area for work. So, Case and I decided to take advantage of this and tag along!
Case all snuggled in for the three hour drive.
Thankfully he has been on many long drives since he was a newborn baby so he has quickly become adapted to time in the car. Unfortunately, he doesn't typically sleep much in the car during the day but fortunately, he has learned to entertain himself (no dvd player or mom sitting in the back with him), his only indulgence is binky :).
Awesome view from our suite. The inn was just a minutes walk from the beach and restaurants, which was key since Dad needed the car to work. We were able to easily go back for dry warm clothes and naps!

Swings are awesome in themselves but swings on a beach, it doesn't get better than that!!!!
We had gorgeous sunny weather but it air was still pretty cool. However, that didn't seem to stop Case from totally submerging himself in the ocean! I think he showed all the surfers in wet suits what tough was :)
I love it when I find my son enjoying a good book! We have recently started going to the library every couple of weeks and it amazes me that he can sit through three to four children's book without being distracted at night before bed. Love it!!!
Baby Smith at 19 weeks. Won't know till we meet baby if Case will have a little brother or sister! So far, everything is going smoothly. Baby is growing on track and the due date is still July 9th (kinda hoping it will be the 7th like Case so we can just do one big party :). As I did with Case I love the second trimester most since I'm no longer queasy and not as exhausted.
It is absolutely amazing to me how different the second pregnancy is! The first I was so caught up in knowing how my baby was developing at each week and was in awe in way my belly grew. This second time around I don't find much time to track the milestones but I find myself so excited to meet this baby and see what their personality is like! I also, find it humorous when people tell me not to lift anything too heavy . . . little do they realize I am daily picking up a 25 pound little boy usually while juggling something else in my arms!
From the time Case was only 20 weeks old and still in my womb he was very sensitive to loud noises. Now, at 20 months he still startles at them but is learning to cope and not freak out every time. So, when it is time for mama to vacuum he assumes the position: On the couch, stuffed between two pillows, blanket, bear, monkey and cup in lap and will sit their (unusual for a child usually on the go) until I turn the thing off and put it away!
Case's favorite person in the whole wide world is his dad and it is awesome to see :)
