The chiropractic work I had done yesterday felt great (lots of crackle popping) and relieved the uncomfortable backaches I get if I sit or stand for too long (can’t even make it through a movie anymore), however, it hasn’t helped baby’s position yet.

I had my appointment with my OB this morning and she did an exam on me that said that Baby Smith’s butt was definitely down in my pelvis “sitting pretty” and starting to get settled which is what we don’t want. The good news is that she didn’t feel the cord so that is a positive since we don’t want baby sitting on that and cutting of the very important blood flow. She also said that I’m 2-3 cm dilated, which she didn’t seem too concerned about since some women can take weeks to fully dilate but it makes her think that baby may be here before the July 10th due date. We shall see.

So, she gave me the option of doing an external version (see this website for more info: http://health.yahoo.com/pregnancy-birth/external-cephalic-version-version-for-breech-position/healthwise--hw180146.html) which I have agreed to after getting the opinion of many others. Since my Dr is going to be on vacation next week and she doesn’t like to do it after 37 weeks, it has been scheduled for Monday night.

She says we have about a 50% chance of this working so we are hoping for the best but are ok with it not working as long as baby stays safe. Thanks to all those who have been praying for us!
