A Day in the Life of Mr. & Mrs. Smith: Let There Be Showers

Even though the sky was clear and blue this weekend was full of showers!

On Friday I was “showered” by my coworkers/friends with good company, yummy food and special gifts for baby. Of course we played some great games like, “Wives Tales that Determine the Sex of Your Baby” (If you like OJ while you are pregnant you are having a boy. If you nose gets wider you are having a girl.) and make a baby out of play-dough, and “Would Mom Rather Baby have Mom or Dad’s ____”. Good times all around!

On Saturday my sisters, Katelyn and Jenna, threw me (and Baby Smith) a fabulous party! Thanks to Phyllis’s generosity in letting us use her beautiful backyard once again (had my bridal shower there 4 years ago almost to the day) and the help of the soon to be “Grandmas” the party went off without a hitch (well, except for Grandma Margaret’s disgust with the “What’s in the Diaper” game).

The games were tons of fun and really got the stories going. I think the “What’s in the Diaper” game was the biggest hit and it was hilarious watching all the women inspecting (some tasting) the diapers trying to determine which candy bar was in which diaper. The “Name Game” (each person got an index card with a letter and had to write as many names they could that started with that letter) was a new one for me and very helpful since we still haven’t made any final decisions in that department yet. I believe Heather was the winner of the “Taboo” game (can’t say Baby, Bottle or Belly or you lose your necklace) which I did horribly at.
